“AN ABODE OF OUR OWN”- Sri Lanka Association of Printers launches an ambitious programme to build it’s own Secretariat and training centre…..
Working on an objective cited by the President Mrs. Dharani Karunaratne at her inauguration speech last year, the Executive Committee of the Association launched a major project to acquire land and build a secretariat cum training Centre in the near future.
A sub committee comprising members of the Executive committee were tasked with carrying this project forward.
Accordingly the Secretary of the sub committee Mr. Allan Perera together with Treasurer Johnny Fernando and committee member Hiran de Silva immediately prior to Collate 2010 negotiated with several members and were able to secure as many as 19 members who confirmed “Platinum” sponsorships of Rs. 1.0mn each, and a further 2 members who confirmed “Gold” sponsorships of Rs. 500,000/- each. These members were recognized at the awards night of Collate 2010 and each gifted a “pledge banner” as a memento of their subscription to this mega project.
The sub committee expects many more members to join this project in the due course of events.
